Life Changing Skill
Discipline changed my life because it was a trait that was required for me to get the outcomes that I wanted.
I genuinely think that if all I had was discipline, then I would have still been able to get the outcomes that I have.
Don’t get me wrong, I was motivated throughout my entire journey as an Entrepreneur.
I’m still motivated and disciplined today, but there’s a difference between discipline and motivation.
Motivation is a temporary feeling to take action. While discipline is willfully choosing to take action regardless of how you feel.
The reason why I've been able to go so far, maintain this lifestyle, and maintain high earning months. Is because I used a combination of the 2.
I used either one when it would serve me best. When things didn’t feel right, I still did the work that I had to do.
There will be times in your life when you will feel out of it. You might not even enjoy what you’re doing. Even then you will always have a choice.
As an entrepreneur you can decide whether to fall victim to that downward spiral of destruction.
Or you’re going to be disciplined and continue doing the good and positive things you know you should do.
I haven’t had a downward spiral during the last 3 years of my journey. That is a testament to how disciplined I am.
The reason for that is because my discipline overpowered all of the moments where I could have entered into a downward spiral.
When you have a genuine purpose and fully understand what you need to do.
You will barely rely on motivation. You will naturally feel motivated but what’s going to keep you going isn’t that feeling of motivation.
It is the discipline that you have in your mind.
If your purpose is very strong and you know that your purpose is the ultimate thing that you need to achieve in life.
Then you will know for a fact that when those down times present themselves you are going to keep pushing through.
When I was in Sesimbra in Portugal a month ago. There was a point in that whole entire stay when I did not call my parents for a full two weeks.
I left my phone fully on airplane mode and I was only working on my laptop nonstop. I was completely dialed in and unbothered by technology.
I was waking up at 5:30 am every single day and I went to bed at around 9:00 pm most nights.
My purpose was so strong that even though I was missing out on things. I knew for a fact that if I gave into those desires, it would just push me further away from my goals.
The root of discipline is a strong desire and drive to become a better person and ultimately achieve your goals.
Discipline is a character trait that you need to learn.
Some people don’t put enough time in the game, so they never see the fruitful results of being a disciplined man.
